Scenic Adair Co., KY: Rainbows bring smiles to Little Cake

2013-07-07 - Little Cake, District 1, Adair County, KY - Photo by Wendy Gousha. Just for a moment the sun came out and brought with it a double rainbow. The rainbow started at the creek on the farm and ended just across the road on Neat Hollow. Unfortunately, we found no pot of gold, but this did bring a smile to our faces and hope that the rain would soon end. - WENDY & BEN

Scenic Taylor Co., KY: Rainbow from Lone Valley Road

2013-07-06 - Lone Valley Road, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Larry Smith, The Big Dawg, 99.9 FM radio. I never saw a rainbow so wide as this one on Lone Valley Road at the entrance to Green River Lake State Park. Are we lucky to live in South Central Kentucky? I can't imagine why anyone would want to be anywhere else. This has to be the most beautiful summer we've ever had. - LARRY SMITH, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications

Scenic Adair Co., KY: Double Rainbow, Ridgeview Farm

2013-07-06 - Allen Schoolhouse Road, Adair Co., KY - Photo by Emmalee Baker. We wanted to share the beautiful scene looking out from our front porch on Allen Schoolhouse Road, on Saturday evening, July 6, at around 7:45pmCT. You can see the faint remnants of the first rainbow to the right of the more brilliant one. I think our "pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow would be our milk cows. Photo by Emmalee Baker.

Flooding July 6, 2013 at Campbellsville Street Bridge

2013-07-06 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. By no means a record but well out of its banks, Russell Creek formed a lake with overflow of muddy water Saturday afternoon, July 6, 2013. In parts of the county, small creeks rose and flowed over road beds temporarily at times during the day. From McGaha, there were reports of Sulphur stopping traffic occasionally.
