- Sausage - mild and very tasty
- Little new potatoes- great for country fried
- Onions- mixed with the potatoes
- Tomatoes- large and very good
The eggs were not from the farmers market but from the chickens up the hill from me. We will be having pork chops for lunch and they came from the farmers market also. We are eating good in the neighborhood. Melewi picture taken by me. (My first food picture.)

Chris Patton: Doing a job he loves as well as the midway

2013-07-13 - Liberty Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Chris Patton who's home in Adair County with his job running the mouse game for Myers International Midways, is shown above in a job he loves equally well, being a poll office at the Eunice-Pellyton precinct. "I love meeting people," he said, "and in that way, my work with the amusement company is like my work at the polls." Above he's shown with his co-workers for the primary election May 22, 2007. From left: Betty Lou Wethington, Chris Patton, Vickie Thomas, and Karen Selch. Paired photo see also: Return of the native: Chris Patton

Return of the native: Chris Patton

2013-07-13 - 413 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. There are familiar faces with Myers International Midways the big amusement company on the Adair County Fair midway. And not just the people who've become a part of the community over the past fifty years. There are also people we see most of the year in Columbia, like Chris Patton, above. He's a graduate of Adair County High School and a permanent resident of Pellyton. He's on the road from April to October with Myers Amusement Co. He runs the Mouse Game and that's mostly Adair County, too. 16 of 17 of his mice were caught in his father's dairy barn on Spruce Pine Road, above Pellyton, and below Sanders Ridge. In fact, his Main Mouse, Oscar, is out of Adair County. Store-bought white mice just aren't the same quality, he says. "They won't run." Adair County Dairy Barn Mice will run. The one mouse not from Kentucky is from Atlanta. It will run, he says, but is absolutely no match for the thoroughbreds of micedom, Kentucky Breds, and the premium from the Commonwealth are native Adair Counties. The only explanation my be the perious life the Adair Counties having to evade quick six foot blue racers and cow snakes. If you're on the midway tonight, you'll see Chris. If you miss him there, you'll always see him come election time. He's a long time poll officer at for the Eunice-Pellyton Precinct.
