Marvin Gentry & his 1976 Dodge Charger

2013-07-14 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. A bit of provenance: Marvin Gentry liked this touch - the charger came with the original dealer provide key tag. It just adds to the feel of driving a pristine 37 year old muscle car.

Scenic Adair Co., KY: Pretty on a red, rainy day

2013-07-14 - Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
One of the best places to be on a rainy day - downtown Columbia. There's always a passing parade, and one can almost see the Adair County Garden Clubs flowers grow. With a fairly generous number of canopies and awnings, one can dash from store to bank to office to cafe, duck in for coffee, or just strategize the next move. This Seattle class downpour did make the worst umbrella hater long for one, however.

Campbellsville 4th on 13th: Balloon lands on Green/Taylor line

2013-07-13 - Black Gnat, KY - Photo by Larry Smith. A hot air balloon is landing over the trees in Green County just beyong the Green-Taylor Water District water tank at Black Gnat, the big little community of beautiful homes surrounded by fertile farm land, which straddles the county line. It was a beautiful and the enormous crowd for the delayed event proves that people truly love the Campbellsville Fourth of July, no matter how the weather affects the schedule. The photo was taken Saturday, July 13, 2013. Not in the photo, but an interesting note, is the Hogard's Chapel United Methodist Church. The church's steps are in Green County, the sanctuary is in Taylor.
