Kentucky Color - Virginia Creeper
2013-07-21 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge, Retired District Forester, KY State Division of Forestry. Even though Virginia Creeper resembles Poison Ivy it is easily identified by its five leaflets since Poison Ivy has only three. Our forefathers often referred to it as 5 leaf Poison Ivy. Although I have never personally heard of anyone having an allergic reaction to Virginia Creeper the so called experts tell us that it is a possibility. - Billy Joe Fudge

Summersville Fun Day July 20, 2013: Here for the parade
2013-07-21 - Summersville, KY - Photo by Larry Smith, The Big Dawg. This classy 1955 year old Chevy 210 Coupe was here for the Summersville Fun Day parade. It was a great day in my hometown. Lots of memories, but there's something special about Summersville - it's one small town which keeps growing and changing. My old grammy, right, in the photo, is no longer a school, it's now the Green County Recycling Center. But Summersville people support our local businesses like the Lewis' General Store and new stores - even our own Dollar General; we still have great, growing churches, there's still a bank here, and you won't find a more patriotic community anywhere. - Larry Smith, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications

Sunflowers on ACHS campus - Yellow as far as eye can see
2013-07-21 - Adair County School Campus, Columbia, KY - Photo by Shamarie Claiborne, Adair Co. School District photo. Everybody loves the new crops which have replaced the tobacco in the FFA fields on the Adair County School District Campus. Not only do they catch the eye of most humans the critters like them too! This bumble bee was in the middle of a feast! - Shamarie Claiborne, Adair County School District The scene is just one of the sights which make a snail slow drive or walk through the campus a joy, and a reminder that school starts August 14, 2013 for students. That's just 24 days from today.

Summersville Fun Day: Forcht Bank Ice Cream Truck
2013-07-20 - Summersville, KY - Photo by Larry Smith, The Big Dawg. Jay Shofner, Forcht Bank Manager in Summersville, KY was one of the most popular men in town today. He was in charge of giving out free chocolate and vanilla ice cream from the cool Forcht Bank Ice Cream Truck during the Summersville Fire Departments big Summer Fun Day, Saturday, July 20, 2013. It was fun for the little kid in me. It's been a wonderful July Day in my home town. My guess is that over 2,000 people have been here to take part in the festivities. - Larry Smith, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications/i>
