2013-09-26 - Christian Church Park - Photo by Ed Waggener. The light globe standard in the foreground is one of three ridden over in an early morning spree of vandalism at the Christian Church Park. Progresss slowed by vandalism
2013-09-26 - Christian Church Park - Photo by Ed Waggener. The Pavillion at the Christian Church Park shows shows little of the damage and the promise of improvement in this photo taken after an episode of hooliganism trashed the park, sometime in the wee hours Wednesday morning. However, eigh light fixtures inside the shelter were destroyed and damage elsewhere was extensive. The Columbia Christian Church owns the park, and has been making steady improvements over the years. The foundation work is for restrooms one of the few amenities lacking there. The park is just two blocks from downtown, is near the Trabue-Russell House, and adjoins Lindsey Wilson College and the Columbia Christian Church, 206 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. The Columbia Police Department is investigating and the church is offering a reward.
