The Sigogglin Bridge over Powder Creek

2013-10-08 - Clear Springs Road, District 2, Adair County, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. The Adair County Road Department is quickly building the new bridge over Powder Creek on Clear Springs Road in Magistrate Daryl Flatt's District (2). County built bridges are now a bit higher since the State requires design by engineering firms. This one special. Built at an angle, it may be the most sigogglin one in the county - maybe anywhere. The photo was taken Monday afternoon, October 7, 2013. The buildings down creek are on the Benjie Kimbler place. Paired photo - See also Strategizing at the Powder Creek Bridge project

Scenic Adair Co., KY: Landmark barn, Allen Schoolhouse Road

2013-10-08 - 2125 Allen Schoolhouse RD near Sano Rd, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
A Dignified Senior on Allen Schoolhouse Road -
Fall colors and skies are making this marking place scene magical, as a classic old farm building is allowed to find its own time to exit, embellished by natural growth, but with neatly tilled productive fields surrounding it. On the right is the roof line of one of Adair County largest, most modern churches, Free Union Separate Baptist Church, where Bro. Mark Polston is pastor. It's on Sano Road. Interestingly, east of the roadway, across its intersection with Allen Schoolhouse Road, the highway becomes Free Union Church Road. - EW
