The 2013 Downtown Days congregation
2013-10-13 - Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo By Linda Waggener, CM Photo. Provide seats, and they will come. Some even brought their own seats. This is just part of the crowd gathered for performances on the Main Stage. It is not surprising that as permanent seats and benches are provided downtown, they are occupied and enjoyed. Not only were these performance seats in use, but benches all around the square were filled people enjoying sandwiches, having conversations, or just enjoying the passing parade. - EW

Downtown Days: The incomparable Sharon Payne
2013-10-13 - Main Stage, 400 Quadrant, Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo By Linda Waggener, CM Photo. When Sharon Payne sang during the Ministerial Association progam during Downtown Days, it gave folks chill bumps. What a magnificent voice in praise! It was a wonder any of the glass window panes remained intact. She sang during the Adair Ministerial Association's program, at which Bro. Steve Pescosolido brought the message, and Friends in Jesus & Karen Pescosolido, and Sister Sharon Payne sang. The program started a bit beyond its 11pmCT scheduled time, but it was so worth it. One of the best hours of one of the best Downtown Days ever. - - Linda Waggener

Picture with real candidate, real editor, part-fantasy caption
2013-10-13 - 200 Quadrant, Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo Adair County Community Voice. Fantasy submitted caption: "Breaking news from downtown Columbia! Ed Waggener apparently succumbed to local pressure and started hanging out at the Republican Party Booth during Downtown Days. A local newspaper editor who wished to not be identified reported that Waggener told U.S. Sen. candidate Matt Bevin that he is pretty sure a "right" turn is in his near future. He then threw up his hands and yelled, 'Ted Cruz 2016.' That's my story and I'm sticking to it." ("Anonymous," ??? writes) The True Facts Fact: He was thinking, "Where IS Bill Clinton when I need him? As an unbiased reporter, he is not taking sides, he'll support whatever President we elect in 2016, whoever She is; whatever Senator Kentucky sends to the United States Senate in 2014, whoever She is; but would support a move to recruit Matt Biven to Adair County after the 2014 Fall election; he could do a lot of good around here under Adair County's Retired Millionaire Relocation Program. It was all in fun. A good time was had by all. - ED WAGGENER
