Christmasy Shrub - Pretty, but all parts are poisonous

2013-11-20 - Columbia, KY - Photo ColumbiaMagazine.com staff photo.
Nandina is pretty red and green, and Christmasy, but non-sterile varieties are considered invasive species in many southern states. All parts of the plant are toxic according to the article Nandina in Wikipedia and Adair County Garden Club founder Barbara Armitage. The Wikipedia article says that the berries are not generally toxic to birds but that it can kill birds such as the beautiful Cedar Waxwing. This plant is on S. High Street.
