2013-12-09 - 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener.
One of the few photo(s) we badly wanted
but didn't come out the way we wanted to actually does convey the rapidly changing pace of education in Adair County. The Mission Possible mobile classroom serving Gifted and Talented students is now the talk of the Commonwealth, with a tight booking for special events appearances. If anyone has a proper photo from the Christmas Parade, we hope they'll share. -EW

Maury Lewis: Joyously singing Christmas Carols

2013-12-09 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo By Linda Waggener, CM Photo. Her name may be as familiar as that of any other Adair Countian, but we don't often get a chance to post pictures of Maury Lewis, aka "Melewi." But we weren't surprised to see her joyously singing Christmas Carols, joining choirs from Trinity UMC and Columbia Christian Church, Saturday night, December 7, 2013, at what turned out to be an extraordinarily memorable Christmas in Columbia, and, as the Monday morning quarerbacking starts to come in today, judging measures of success, the prognosis is: Successful. Maury Lewis is a member of Word of Life Church, which recently relocated to 907 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. (Information on their services in the CM DIRECTORY of CHURCHES is under "Non-Denomination."
