Epicurean Kentuckian: Chicken Soup with Rice

2013-12-20 - Photo by Pen.
Homemade chicken soup takes only a few ingredients: chicken, onion, garlic, celery, and carrots, in either chicken broth or water. Add some sage and thyme and maybe a little salt and pepper, and it's guaranteed to make the house smell wonderful. As pictured, it was thickened with a roux and then served over some long grain white rice.
