Treacherous roadway on East 80
2014-01-03 - Russell Creek Westhill, KY 80 - Photo by Larry Smith, The WAVE, FM 92.7 radio. Fortunately, nobody was hurt, and the Adair County Sheriff's Office is watching traffic on the WAVE Studio side of Russell Creek Hill, but this photo shows just how treacherous the roadways are today, especially in places like this cliff-shaded roadway on the eastbound lane on the western rise. Adair County Deputy Sheriff B.J. Bray is at the top of the hill, warning traffic. iPhone pictuetaken at approximately 8:20amCT. - LARRY SMITH, FM 92.7 the WAVE, en route to sausaage and biscuit time, in sunny Russell Springs, KY. Birds of Kentucky: Cold Cardinal
2014-01-03 - Fortune Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Even with the finest bird buffet possible, a generous serving of Adair County Garden Club Wild Bird Seed, this American Cardinal seemed intent on keeping warm rather than eating. Maybe he's like a lot of us: Breakfast has to be eaten not only in a clean, well lighted place, but a warm one, too. - CM.

Scenic Adair Co., KY: Winter sunrise on Burton Ridge
2014-01-03 - Vester, KY - Photo by Letisha Paris. I've been able to play housewife this morning (always chores to be done) and watch the Sunrise over Burton Ridge, which by the way I have greatly missed. (The sunrise more so than than the chores of course.) - Tisha Paris

Kentucky Color - Miniature forest
2014-01-03 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge. One of the most beautiful forests on Earth is a Moss Forest. Moss is an evergreen which is probably no more than a couple inches tall but grows all winter long. It is a most beautiful ground cover which is fairly easy to transplant into your shaded garden landscape. Easy to scoop up and easy to plant, simply by laying it down upon bare earth. Might need to make some metal wire loops to sorta pin it down a couple of places until it takes root. Water often during the transplanting process but don't drown it. - Billy Joe Fudge
