Scenic Russell Co., KY: Farm scene, Stephens Ridge Road

2014-01-05 - Russell County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener. Stephens Ridge Road off Bernard Ridge Road in Russell County, KY, in its short distance, offers the widest variation of scenery: winding from beautiful country churches, to a spectacular view of the Green River Knob in Casey/Pulaski Counties, past handsome residences, ending in winter peeks at beautiful Lake Cumberland. Along the way, there's farm scenes like this one, graying barns in beautiful reminders of the region's wonderful farmland. Taken on a sunny winter day, Saturday, January 4, 2014. - CM

2014-01-04 - Sugarfoot Farm Rescue, 860 Sparksville Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Peg Schaeffer.
Kirk and Tristan
- Kirk is the grey one and Tristan is the brown one. They are just under a year old, male Catahoula mixes, neutered and up to date with their shots. They come from a litter of five that I got in September. There are two females and three males and they are super dogs. They all love people and are well behaved. Scenic Adair Co., KY: Contrailed Skies

2014-01-04 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
A number of people have commented on the patterns and scope of the contrails in the morning sky. Whether one is agnostic on the subject, conspiracy minded, or just wants answers, the effect of these unnatural cirrus clouds is being studied by all. Even science writers from Nova, the public television series queston contrails' effects on the environment. See Nova: The Contrail Effect. The photo above was taken at around 8:30amCT, Saturday, January 4, 2014. We don't know what to make of the giant elfen Abraham Lincoln Angel hovering over this side of Columbia. Probably nothing. - CM
