Big Chill of 2014: Shadows on the Snow
2014-01-11 - Greatery Gadberry, KY - Photo by Charles Marshburn. The Fairplay/Gadberry area of Adair County, KY always seems to get more snow than many other parts of the county, and 2014 was no exception, as seen in this wonderful photo which locks the "Snow music" soundtrack themes from the movies "Nobody's Fool" and "Beautiful Girl's" in one's head. The photo above is as fresh as the snow appears, taken January 11, 2014.- CM

(Ad) TaP's Gourmet Chili - from 99 cents a bowl
2014-01-11 - 104 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Letisha Paris. Our customers are raving about our 99c bowl of Chili. It served piping hot and spicy. It's hearty, meaty, and makes a quick appetizer for any meal - actually, many make it a meal. A plain serving - the one above has a dollop of sour cream and diced onion and fresh jalapeno dots for a garnish and takes a bit longer - gets to your table a couple of minutes after you place your order, and it comes ready to eat from a real bowl with a real spoon. Everybody seems to love the oyster crackers. No need to call 9-1-1 for the Jaws of Life to extricate your crackers, just spoon out and eat! We're downright pleased with customer comments about Gary's creation. They saying it is one more thing to add to the long list of TaP's food which is the best they've ever eaten. We'll let you be the judge. Hope to see you today. - Letisha Paris, TaP's Diner, 104 Public Square, Columbia, KY. Mon-Fri, 6am-6pmCT; Saturday, 6am-3pmCT. Closed Sundays. Call ahead - 270-385-6003.
