CACVFD: Mobile home fire on Greensburg Road

The Columbia Adair County Fire Department was dispatched to 4236 Greensburg Road at approximately 17:43 hours on Sunday, December 29, 2024, on a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a mobile home fully engulfed in flames.

Fiscal Court meets for final 2024 session

The Adair County Fiscal Court met in Special Called session Thursday evening, December 26, 2024, in the Adair County Annex to go over items on a lengthy end-of-year agenda. Pictured as the meeting was getting started are, from left, are: District 4 Magistrate Chris Reeder; District 3 Magistrate Sammy Baker; District 1 Magistrate Tony Denton, Benisha Johnson, AC Judge Executive Larry Russell Bryant, Clerk Amy Pike, County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison-Corbin, and District 6 Magistrate Mark Humphress.

Brown shoots from mid-range

8th-Grader Ella Brown shot a midrange jumper late in the game against Holy Cross in the Vanous Lloyd Christmas Classic hosted at Dragon Gym on the campus of Warren Central High School on Saturday. The game marked the Lady Indians 4th straight win, and their second win in the VLCC. Saturday's win was particularly special for Brown, who celebrated her birthday on game day.

Lady Indians preparing for matchup with Cougars

The Lady Indians prepare to do battle against the Cougars of Holy Cross (3-6) in the next round of the Vanous Lloyd Classic hosted at Warren Central High School in Bowling Green. With Friday's victory, the Lady Indians have now won three straight. They are hoping to build their largest winning streak in almost a decade with a win on Saturday.

Remains of the Eubank Spring House

This sign at the Trabue House indicates the stones from the Eubank Spring House at the town branch. It reads, "This garden was created by the Adair County Garden Club in 2007. The stones used to form the borders, paths, and benches once formed the foundation and walls of the Eubank Spring House at the foot of Jamestown Hill. That cool spring water refreshed the early settlers and travelers to Columbia."
