Election 2014 - Michael Lee Stephens for Adair Judge Executive
2014-02-10 - Columbia, KY - Photo Campaign Photo.
Vote for Michael Lee Stephens for Adair Co. CJE
To The Concerned Citizens of Adair County
The purpose of my address to you today is both personal and professional. On a professional level, I am seeking your support for the office of Adair County Judge Executive on Tuesday, May the 20th, 2014. However, on a personal level, I am speaking to you as a concerned citizen of Adair County, one that has witnessed the burden of ineffective management, and seen the dire effects of our taxpayer revenue mismanaged by our current fiscal leader. As a result, the focus of my campaign for Adair County Judge Executive will hinge on one principle . . . CHANGE!
Specifically, the change I am referring to will revolve around proven and practical methods of business for managing and spending your tax dollars. These methods will seek to carve out a new financial path for our county. Our focus will be actively pursuing new sources of revenue from increased industry and jobs, while at the same time streamlining our current tax revenue to maximize the benefit for our citizens. Additionally, I will not SUPPORT any increase in current taxpayer burdens, this includes any new, surprise, hidden, or backdoor TAXES, which we have recently been the victim of. While these goals and objectives sound simple, we can only accomplish them one way . . together. Together, we can overcome what years of neglect and ineffective management has done to our citizens, businesses, and local economy. Together, we can begin to tie back the threads of our community that have been severed with broken promises, and unfulfilled commitments. To help us fulfill the goals for our county, I will draw upon my experiences as a business owner, as well as my personal beliefs and faith to guide all decisions.
- 40 Years of Business Experience in Adair County
- Success in cooperating with many local area businesses
- Prior experience in negotiating professional contracts
- Knowledge of developing and operating fiscal budgets
- Extensive experience in funds management
In addition to my prior business experience, I am thankful for the opportunity to live, work, and enjoy my children, and grand-children in this faithful community. Furthermore, my personal faith as a devout Christian bolsters my daily life, and impacts the root of all my decisions, both personally and professionally, as my character and judgment is deeply rooted in the core of my Christian Faith.
Join with me, by trusting me with your vote to be the next Adair County Judge Executive. I guarantee that I will begin working on Day 1 to address our pressing financial burdens, and will begin actively seeking new and innovative ways to attract industries and jobs for our local community. All of this will take place within an open community forum, while collaborating with other members of the fiscal court, local agriculture leaders, the business community, and each and every citizen. Together, we can overcome our challenges, together we can grow our workforce, together we can ease the burden for all Adair County citizens. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Respectfully,
Michael Lee Stephens

Deputy Matt: Too many police shows on Tv?
2014-02-10 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Harrison Moss. Young Deputy Matthew Harrison Moss has the bead on the bad guys. His grandfather, Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss, admits that this may be a case of an indulgent grandmother - he himself is very strict with the boy - allowing Matthew to watch too many police shows. Young Matthew Edward Harrison Moss is the grandson of Shirley & Harrison Moss - of course - and the son of Matthew and Tessa Moss.

(Ad) Election 2014: Eric Antle for Adair County Jailer
2014-02-10 - Columbia, KY - Photo Campaign Photo.
Vote for Eric Antle, Republican Candidate for Adair County Jailer
Hello, my name is Eric Antle-
I am excited to announce that I am running for office of Adair County Jailer.
I have worked at the Adair County Jail as your Chief Deputy under the jailer for the last 6 years and in corrections for over 20 years.
Prior to corrections I worked for EMS and as a supervisor on a psychiatric unit. I have experience working with numerous different county officials that is needed to function as the jailer. I have the privilege of working with the current jail staff that bring valuable experience to the table.
Problems arise at all times of the day and night at the jail and your jailer needs to be easily accessible. I am there and have been there for the jail, I hope to continue to be there for several years to come. I have worked with previous jailers on efforts to save the tax payers of Adair County, and I am aware that this is an everyday struggle. I will continue to seek out ways to save our county money and make our jail safe for inmates and the community alike.
With your help, I hope to continue to serve the people of Adair County in the new role as your jailer. The only promises I will make is that I will do my best to run the jail with respect and dignity, to continue to treat people as I want to be treated and hopefully assist the inmates with rehab so that they may serve as functional members of society. At the jail we are currently running several beneficial programs such as: Life Skills, Celebrate Recovery, Church Services, and GED program. Most of these services are provided by volunteers from our community and these programs need to continue. I would like to seek out more programs to aid our inmate population to further develop their ability to succeed with life. I look forward to meeting the prior inmates out in our small community with smiles on their faces because they are proud of what they have become. This is the true reward of working at the jail, assisting the inmate in the change of their lives to succeed.
My wife and I are getting out in the county seeing people and hope to meet you all! We both care about the people of Adair County as this is our home. I would like to ask all of you for your vote and I am open to any questions or suggestions that you may have. I currently work fultime as Chief Deputy at the jail and I am spending every extra minute working to get your vote. I am available on my cell phone at 270-634-7652. Feel free to call me. Thank You for your time and I would appreciate your support.
My Experience:
- 20 years corrections experience
- Chief Deputy last 6 years
- Completed 12 week Academy at Jefferson County Corrections (not offered here)
- Member of Certified Emergency Response Team in Jefferson County
- 2+ years correctional experience with over 2000 inmates in Jefferson County
- ERIC ANTLE
