Election 2014: Mike Mitchum for Magistrate, Adair Co. Dist. 5
2014-03-17 - 1143 Sulphur Springs Road, Columbia, KY - Photo Campaign Photo. To the voters of Adair County, KY
I would like to introduce myself as a Republican Candidate for Magistrate, District 5.
I am the son of Glenna Mitchum and the late Charles Mitchum, and the son-in-law of Lewis and Gayle Garrison.
My wife Amy and I have been married for 33 years. We have two grown children, Michael Mitchum (Tiffany) and Mary Burton (Levi) and we now have seven grandchildren.
I am a graduate of Adair County High School and a recent graduate of Lindsey Wilson College with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
I have had a long and very enjoyable career in heavy construction. Much of the experience and knowledge I have gained through my career will be invaluable as a magistrate. More importantly, the business knowledge and experience I have gained while working within the family business (Garrison Construction) will be important in the magistrate seat on fiscal court. I believe it is vital that we bring business principles and philosophies back to county government.
I have never had a desire to be a politician, but now that I have Grandchildren I have decided that I can no long stand back and complain, I need to step up to the plate and try to make a difference. I have always been told "never judge someone until you walk a mile in their shoes." So I am asking you the voters, to let me walk that mile.
Although only voters of District 5 can help me with my bid for magistrate. I want to say that if I am successful, I will always view the position as working for all Adair Countians, and I will always do my do my best to make decisions based on what's best for Adair County.
To the voters of Adair District 5 - West Columbia and Milltown Precincts, I ask for your vote and support.
Thank you.
Mike Mitchum

Frasier, a Chocolate Lab, is missing from his Breeding area home
2014-03-17 - Breeding, KY - Photo by Arianna Wooten. We're in the Breeding area, and our dog has come up missing. I was hoping you could put some pictures and his and our info up on CM to ensure the speedy return of our dog. He slipped his collar, and hasn't been microchipped, so we're afraid he might have looked like a stray to someone. He's not. His name is Frasier, he's a full-blooded Chocolate Lab, probably between 60-80 lbs. He's all brown with a white splotch on his chest and stomach, and gold eyes.
He's young, approximately. 8 months old. Contact us at: 1-270-432-2847 or 1-270-261-1443
