Take Back the Night observed at Lindsey Wilson College

2014-04-09 - Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, KY - Photo by Duane Bonifer. LWC photo.
Lindsey Wilson College Students team up with Adanta
to 'Take Back The Night.' Members of the Lindsey Wilson College community joined Tuesday evening with the Adanta Group Community Mental Health Center sexual assault resource center to raise awareness about sexual violence. The two local groups collaborated to hold a "Take Back the Night" event at LWC. Take Back the Night is an international event designed to end sexual violence. Tuesday's event, which was sponsored by the LWC Women's Student Union, was initially to include a walk and picnic, but bad weather forced it into the Cralle Student Union Building. More than 50 LWC students, faculty and staff heard from keynote speaker Sean R. Embry, a victim advocate coordinator with the Kentucky National Guard. From left: LWC student Jessica Turner of Tompkinsville, KY; LWC student Casey McGowan of Jamestown, KY; Embry; and Heather McAninch and Jamie Ford, both of Adanta Group Community Mental Health Center. - Duane Bonifer, LWC Director of Public Relations

Jamestown, KY, invites sitting a spell

2014-04-08 - Monument Square, Jamestown, KY. - Photo CM Staff Photo. One never has to hunt for a place to sit and watch the passing parade in Jamestown, KY. These benches are on the grounds of the Russell County Judicial Center, but, although they are very pleasant, don't seem to be utilized as much as on the opposite side of the Square, on South Main Street, where there is more shade.
