2014-05-17 - Adair Annex Parking Lot, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Wayne Armitage held one of the last four containers of fresh strawberries for sale at the Tucker's Station stall today. After this one was bagged to go to a local home for a breakfast which also included fresh asparagus and pretzels from Coview Farms and Lonely Acres Farm, there were only 3 containers left for sale. But Tucker's Station still had a great supply of strawberry plants, blackberry plants and bread for sale.

Mike Sneed first candidate at market today

2014-05-17 - Adair Annex Parking Lot, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Mike Sneed, left, was the first candidate at the Farmers Market on the Square this morning; he's posing above with Dale Whittingham, the craftsman who does miniature replicas - with some commissioned work - of family home and other local landmarks. Mike Sneed, a candidate for Adair County Court Clerk, said he plans to have Saturday hours at the clerk's office, if elected, which would be a big help to the market, he thinks. The clerk's office is open this morning for absentee voting by machine. This is the last Saturday before the election.

2014-05-17 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Mary Keltner, traveling all the way from her daughters Washington, DC via Gradyville, KY, this morning was an early visitor to the Farmers Market this morning. Downtown was busy when this picture was taken, even before the official 8amCT opening. She was talked into buying duck eggs from Lisa Blakaby of Blackaby Farms by Market Coordinator Barbara Armitage. Duck eggs make good omelettes, Mary Keltner said.
