Remembering happy face of an American Staffordshire Terrier
2014-06-29 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Celia Downey. JOSEPH - This is a picture of my American Staffordshire Terrier, who died. As you can see, his face shows who he was, happy in life and well treated. His name was Joseph, because he had a coat of many colors, and deserved a name worthy of him. I have written a book about finding him and then losing him. His loss was such a tragic event, it happened on July 1, 2011 at 6:30am. - CELIA DOWNEY

Epicurean Kentuckian: Cinnamon Swirl French Toast
2014-06-28 - 1535 Bull Run Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Barbara Armitage. Classic French Toast with a Swirl. I've always believed that if a dish looks good then it tastes good. I couldn't resist these beautiful Daylilies - yes they are edible. Just be sure that you know a Daylily from an Easter Lily. You don't want to confuse them- Easter Lily's will have you believing in the resurrection real fast!
- BARBARA ARMITAGE
