2014-07-18 - 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Donald Hare presented an appeal to the Adair County School board for assistance in accelerating the construction of practice fields, a director's tower between them, and storage facilities. Using other fields as in the past, is a matter of turf: The band is tough on grass, Hare said, and the ADAIR Band is reluctant to ask to use the baseball or football fields at a time when they are in peak condition, but are easily stressed. The band practices so much, Mark D. Harris, President of the ADAIR Band Boosters said, that they can quickly kill grass, and reduce the playing and practice surfaces to mud at the first rainfall.
