On a mission from God?

2014-08-07 - Shelby Co., KY - Photo By Pen.
Look out, Blues Brothers: It's 26 miles to Louisville; I've got a full charge, half a pack of bubble gum, it's daylight... and I'm wearing sunglasses. - To paraphrase Elwood in The Blues Brothers. This girl is ready to roll. We're behind her all the way. If her parents don't sign for her, I will - soon as she's 27. - Hailey's Granddad

Spruce up for opening day of Adair Schools includes new paving

2014-08-07 - ACHS, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia KY - Photo CM Staff Photo.
Students will be arriving on the Adair County School District Campus one week from today, Thursday, April 14, 2014, and when they do they will be seeing a campus transformed, including a new, just paved drive onto the main Adair County High School Parking lot. The parking lot itself will now serve a dual purpose, as the ADAIR Band's paved practice field. The construction scaffolding in the center of the photo is the temporary Director's Tower, which commands a vantage point for practice on the paved field and the grass field on the left. New traffic patterns have been prepared to make arrival and departures from the campus as simple, safe, and orderly as possible. Left turns are being reduced or eliminated throughout the campus; this drive is for exit only and right turn only towards the Columbia Bypass. The campus now has six entrances/exits: Three on Greensburg Street and three on the Adair County Veterans Memorial Bypass. - CM

2014-08-06 - ACES, 870 Indian DR, Columbia, Ky - Photo by Shamarie Claiborne, Adair Co. School District photo.
A new culture is being planted throughout the Adair County Schools. It is all about finding and nurturing leadership qualities in each child, teacher, bus driver, cook, custodian, maintenance worker, assistant, secretary, and administrator within our district. These new signs are just the beginning of the changes to come thanks to the Race to the Top Grant. This year we start our journey to focus on the "Leader in Me" culture and building a better future for not only our children but our adults. - Shamarie Claiborne
