Bird frightener snake keeps carport cleaner

2014-08-23 - E Fortune Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. I almost stepped on the wicked looking snake on neighbor Kenneth Janes' carport. But it was only making a living, scaring off birds. Besides, it's made of rubber. It seems to work, Janes said. The idea is philosophically similar to the one Second Christian Church Trustee Bill Wheat uses to keep birds out of the church's picnic pavillion. Its own monument

2014-08-23 - Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. Don't have any idea what people call it, but this tree on a county lane parallel to the Adair County Veterans Memorial Bypass is a marking place for many, and, in its own way, an work of great beauty; in a way, a monument to its own memory.
