Adair Countians anticipated Bears
2015-06-11 - 702 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Just after seeing a photo on Larry Irvin's cellphone of an intact little bear he had run over with his mower on a bottom on Sulphur Creek, and desperately trying to get a copy it, I stepped outside to see that Danny Downey of Downey's Gun & Pawn Shop and Downey's ATV & Cycles had recognized the importance of Bears to the Adair County tourism experience sometime ago. We're still hoping to get a copy of Larry Irvin's Bear Picture, but can't promise anything at this time. - CM.Paired photo: See also Emily Irvin sends picture of little bear run over by mowing machine

VWS (Vermont Weather Stick) augments NWS at Coburg - I
2015-06-11 - Coburg, KY - Photo iPad photo by Billy Humphress. All Billy Humphress has to do is look out his window at his Vermont Weather Stick to see what the weather is. Above, with the stick bowing downward, it's raining. The stick, seen jjust to the middle right of the front porch post, has a hummingbird on it, but the woods natural qualities, not the weight of the tiny bird, causes the weather stick to change shape. Among other places, Mr. Humphress says, the sticks are available from the Vermont Country Store. - EW. Paired photo: See also - VWS (Vermont Weather Stick) augments NWS at Coburg - II
