Kentucky Color: Early TV Shows 2024-11-26 - Adair Co., KY - Photo From Billy Joe Fudge. Billy Joe writes, "As you may remember, my Pa Fudge had a stroke in the early 50's and was not able to walk without assistance. He loved several shows on TV. Since it was before the days of remote controls, I was tasked with changing the channels and keeping up with when his favorite programs were on. I am not sure if he really knew the names of the programs but he always asked me to 'turn on' his favorites in his own way. It would go something like this. Turn on 'my lawyer', 'Marshall Dillon', 'Hoss', 'Barney' or 'Lucas'. These were not just TV shows but trusted friends who stopped by and shared their stories with him each week."
