Harris; City Clerk Rhonda Loy, Mayor Curtis Hardwick, City Attorney Marshall Loy, and Council members Craig Dean, Linda Waggener, and Craig Lasley. The empty chair, left, belongs to Council Member Ron Rogers, who, Mayor Hardwick said, was absent for the first time ever in many terms on the legislative body. Also, the clock on the wall, left, may have passed the last mile of the way. It was unresponsive last night. Mayor Hardwick assured the worried council that he would handle that situation. - EW

On a chance meeting in Manchester, they found many, many coincidences in their lives since they knew each other when they both were residents of Barnett's Creek, and what being on a "button drunk" meant. The button decorated shirt Sue Barber is wearing helped explain that term, and her purchase of it from a friend of Hagy's subtracted another degree of separation. - CM
