Sweet little dog found on Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY

2015-09-21 - Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Traci Sharpe. These girls found this cute, sweet, little dog this afternoon in my mom's back yard on Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Girls checked w/the neighbors but no luck. Hoping to find the owner. Was starving so they fed & watered. So he's doing good, but misses his family! Call Margaret Blackwell at 270-634-0666 if he's yours or you know who he belongs to. Thanks!

Super Queensland Heeler pup Lu in advanced training

2015-09-20 - Greater Bliss, Adair County, KY - Photo by Junior Stotts.
Lu, the new pup at Junior Stotts' home the last of eight of the breed he's owned and trained. Her latest trick is Walking Like a Man, or she might tell you, a Queensland Heeler imitation of a "Meerkat on Sentry Duty," or, she might tell you, "Enough of this "Height Challenged" stuff from neighbor Vicky Pike of Miss Vicky's Pampered Angus Ranch up the road. Mr. Stotts is cautious in his expectation, but Lu has all the promise of becoming a true contender for the "Smartest Dog in Adair County Ever" honor. - EW

Lonely little petunias in a geranium patch

2015-09-20 - Fountain Plaza, Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Couldn't tell if the petunias were planted on purpose or were volunteer, but it was reminiscent of a favorite Arthur Godfrey song, "I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch, and all I do is cry all day." The geraniums are in full bloom today, and the petunias seem right fitting. - EW
