Walking Adair/Columbia, KY - Exaggerated color at Jim Blair CTR

2015-09-23 - Jim Blair Recreation Center, 801 Hudson Street, Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
The Walking Track at Jim Blair Center offers plenty for natural lovers. A cow posed for its picture, and two trees, a walnut in front and something else in the background stood out in the pasture next to the trail. The track is one-half mile, as no visible tripping hazards, is well marked and has rest areas along the way. - EW

Changing face of E Broadway: new McDonald's in Campbellville, KY

2015-09-23 - 605 East Broadway, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM photo.
(Tue 22 Sep 2015) - It doesn't look like it will be long before McDonald's in Campbellsville will be open again - in a brand new, bigger building. That's a Pyles Excavating Company dumpster over on the left, by the way. We took the picture on a fact finding mission to see what the Campbellsville Town Council has done so well and so attractively: Put in sensible, effective crosswalks and low rise speed bumps to inhibit speeding traffic and make Campbellsville the most walkable city in South Central Kentucky. Traffic was was calm you could reach out and pet it. - EW

KY Color: Adair has Spanish Moss, but no live oaks

2015-09-23 - Savannah, GA - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge. Live Oak, Spanish Moss and Savannah are the definition of "Ol' South", or at least they should be. Adair County has it's very own sustained population of Spanish Moss but heretofore I've failed to find a Live Oak. - BILLY JOE FUDGE
