Drone shot: Corduroy combine patterns in Coburg
2015-10-07 - Coburg, a bit of Taylor, a bit of Adair County, KY - Photo by Jason Mardis, Aerial Concepts (c) 270-250-1867 drone photo . Master farmer John Arnold left these corduroy patterns in a just harvested soybean field on Griffin Springs Road in Taylor County, KY, artfully captured by Jason Mardis, Aerial Concepts drone pilot/photographer. That's Green River Lake in the top of the photo, a little way from Holmes Bend, not visible on the right; a little way from Lone Valley and the Cut on the left, also not visible. The complex in mid left is an equipment barn and parking area for Stotts Construction, Inc. In the upper left is the Adair County Water Treatment Plant.

Smokey Blue, the astounding wonder cat and his winking trick
2015-10-07 - Fortune Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. It's a bit immodest to bragg about one's cat, so we'll just admit that Smokey Blue is about the smartest pet in Adair County. There's not a single Queensland Heeler or Irish Retriever in Adair County which can do the winking trick above, regardless of education. Smokey's performance range is nothing short of astounding. Maybe Max, another wonder cat. But no dog we know of can do this. - EW

Central District Coburg, KY, aerial photo by Jason Mardis
2015-10-07 - Coburg, Adair County, KY - Photo by Jason Mardis, Aerial Concepts (c) 270-250-1867 drone photo . Downtown Coburg, KY, may never be this small again, if just a part of Adair County Judge Executive Michael L. Stephens' vision for the community. He's seeing it as a focal point for inter-county cooperation for Taylor-Adair-Green Counties, the location of convention center and new access point to Green River. The photo above, by drone pilot/photographer Jason Mardis, is of property already hot with the announcement of the award of construction contract for the first phase of the Heartland Parkway, from the Adair County Veterans Memorial Parkway north to the Taylor-Adair line at Coburg. Businesses already located in the hub, in this photo, are, from left, Diesel-X, A & M Trading Post Market/Chop House Restaurant, and Anthony Reese's car sales. The big road is KY 55/Campbellsville Road. Behind the stores is Coburg Loop.
