The Katie Murrell Library is hosting a display of vintage radios (1925-1950) from the collection of Dr. Jean Oostens, resident of Columbia and professor of physics. Lunch time day trip roads of Adair Co., KY: Short Cut Road 2015-10-14 - South of Glens Fork, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM photo. Sometimes just the name of the road makes it a must-go-down, as we did on impulse when a lunch time road trip & picnic took us to Crocus and we noticed this sign - seems like for the first time - just south of Glens Fork. Since all roads which get one from one destination to another by another way are 'short cuts' to my husband, even if they take twice as long to travel, we broke a cardinal rule - always move forward, there will be something even more interesting up the road and went back to drive this one. Won't spoil the fun, but it is a gorgeous .2 mile blacktop slow road (it's narrow), and is, in fact, a genuine short cut from KY 55 South Road to KY 76 and a return to Glens Fork.
