Ruth Hadley at Ambassador Awards 2015-10-18 - Frankfort, KY - Photo from Dale Hollow Resort Park marketing. Ruth Hadley, received the Ambassador Award for Professional Achievement, center, Department of Parks within the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet. She obtained a Bachelor's degree from Lindsey Wilson College, majoring in criminal justice, despite tremendous obstacles, commitments and a full-time job as a serving attendant at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park. She was a non-traditional student who decided to pursue higher education when her youngest child started college. While a daughter and son-in-law were both deployed on active duty in Kuwait, she raised her two grandsons for a year. She cared for a terminally ill parent in her home. Her hectic full-time schedule in hospitality often required long hours and weekends. Ruth's victory over obstacles for professional achievement stands as testimony to perseverance and is an inspiration to her coworkers. Lindsey Wilson College Athletic Director Willis Pooler, right, is presented the Mid-South Conference President's Cup by MSC Conference Commissioner Eric Ward on Saturday afternoon during the LWC-Faulkner (AL) University football game at Blue Raider Stadium. The trophy -- which recognizes the top overall program in the intercollegiate athletics conference -- was won in '14-15 by LWC for the fourth consecutive year and fifth time overall. Among nine conference teams, LWC scored 116.5 out of a possible 120 points in '14-15. The Blue Raiders - ranked No. 1 in the NAIA - are 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference West Division.
