Preparations have been underway since Saturday, for the committal service for Richmond, KY, Police Officer Daniel Ellis' in Pellyton Cemetery, 100 Pellyton East Road, Columbia, KY. Thousands are expected to show their respect here this afternoon Wednesday, November 11, 2015. An army of workers - Policemen, First responders, road crews have been at work since the cemetery was chosen. Off road parking nearby, set up in farm fields, will accompany what has been estimated to be 450-600 vehicles, but that number is only half that expected here this afternoon. The Pellyton East Road entrance from KY 206, in front of the cemetery was reworked with a neat, smooth new cover of limestone gravel by Adair County Road Foreman Terry Corbin and his crew. The cemetery is near the epicenter of the Kentucky Ellis Clan, who settled in the area on a Revolutionary War land grant at Ellistown, KY, Kentucky, Northeast of Pellyton. - EW.
