Big Rig Trucker on history tour: at Old Bardstown Jail 2015-11-15 - Bardstown, KY - Photo by Innocent Bystander . My girlfriend Lissette, left, and I toured Bardstown recently and learned many unique things about the Bardstown area. Jesse James cousin was the jailer, and Jesse and his gang frequently visited the area. Jesse James liked good old Kentucky bourbon, and one of his favorite watering holes was the famous Talbott Tavern. When Jesse and his friends would partake in consuming too much of Kentuckys finest, his family who operated the jail would provide the gang with a bed for the night so that they could ride off in the morning.
