Each year the Juniors across the state of Kentucky participate in a real-world timed practice ACT using official practice materials and rules. Districts decide when this will be, but it has to be before the official state March first ACT administration date. Counselors Ann Young and Leslie Melton at the Adair County High School have high hopes for this group of Juniors. Mrs. Young stated, "they are all working hard and are focused, so if today is any indication of their performance in March, our district should be very proud." The Public Service Commission has declared a vacancy since the expiration of the term of Commissioner Rudy Higginbotham in August 2014. Fiscal Court had appointed Larry Russell Bryant to the seat but, the PSC has ruled, did not have the authority to do so after a 90 day window had expired.
