Rotary Club helps kick off Christmas in Columbia

The Rotarians traditional Edgar Troutman Memorial Breakfast at the Columbia Baptist Church helped everyone get off to the right start for a big day of events with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and hot coffee. A Purnell's Christmas: Shelbyville, KY

2015-12-05 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen. There are lots of Santas, a marching band, waving pageant winners, and dogs in fake antlers in the annual Shelbyville Christmas Parade. There's even a live camel. But the float that you won't find in other towns is the delivery truck from Purnell's Old Folks Country Sausage, which is a Christmas-y red all year long.

The parking lot filled early this morning with diners at the Edgar Troutman Memorial Breakfast at the Columbia Baptist Church, 201 Greensburg Street - diners enter off Monroe Street, above - as Christmas in Columbia goers got fortified with a great food, and and re-united with old friends who simply won't let a Christmas season go by without attending this event. - EW
