This is a picture of my father Johnnie Golden Clark , grandfather Arron Clark , and uncle Algin Lewis, sometime, I believe, in the 1930s. My father is the one holding the scythe and grain cradle. The cradle caught the oats which would be then be flailed for the oats, then winnowed, and then save the straw for bedding. They are harvesting oats for mules.
