LWC Christmas Carnival 2015 draws 617

A total of 617 area residents attended the fifth-annual Lindsey Wilson College Christmas Carnival, held in the Doris and Bob Holloway Health & Wellness Center. In addition to a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, the carnival included games and activities for children, and local vendors also had booths of their wares. The annual event is planned, organized and operated by students in LWC’s recreation, tourism and sport management program as well as the student staff of the Holloway Health & Wellness Center. - Duane Bonifer

Teacher Toby Harmon gets ready for Hour of Code week

During Early Release Friday today, Principal, Patty Jones, lead the ACPC staff in a hour of code. This is in preparation for them teaching code to their students next week. Her staff were totally engaged and enjoying the experience of coding. Above, Tobie Harmon was coding in the Anger Birds game and when I snapped this she had just said "Yes, next level." Favorite Old Photo: Harvesting oats in 1930s

This is a picture of my father Johnnie Golden Clark , grandfather Arron Clark , and uncle Algin Lewis, sometime, I believe, in the 1930s. My father is the one holding the scythe and grain cradle. The cradle caught the oats which would be then be flailed for the oats, then winnowed, and then save the straw for bedding. They are harvesting oats for mules. I bet most people don't have a clue as to how much work it took to harvest a field of hay. - Larry D. Clark
