The new Hardee's is rising fast on its site on Dohoney Trace in Holladay Place, at this with main floor framing almost complete on Sun 20 Dec 2015. It's been some time since Columbia had a Hardee's. Many of us can't remember when it wasn't a star attraction during the holidays. Laura Lamb will perform with KMEA all-state band 2015-12-21 - Campbellsville High School, 230 W Main (campus), Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer/Grant Writer. Campbellsville High School junior Laura Lamb will perform with the KMEA all-state band in February. Lamb, a mallets player, was one of about 1,200 students who auditioned for nearly 140 spots to perform with the all-state ensemble. She auditioned on Saturday, December 12, 2015, and finished second of those auditioning. Lamb will perform in February at the KMEA conference with the symphonic band. According to CHS Band Director Zach Shelton, Lamb is the first CHS student in about 20 years to be invited to play with the band, which is the highest honor a high school band student can receive. Adair Co. Smartest Dog of the Day: Bubba J, Squirrel Poodle 2015-12-21 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. He's as handsome as any pampered Poodle anywhere, but Bubba J, is not vain in any way; having his picture taken is not his priority when he's on a mission, as he was above. Try as we could, his owner, Doug Janes, and I could not dissuade him from his job: Squirrel hunting. Doug said that it's not so widely known, but the dogs were once bred for hunting. It's in them. Bubba J trees squirrels in the neighborhood when he's out for walks, and trees a trophy mounted squirrel in the Janes home when instructed to do so. He's still a bachelor, but a very capable one at just five years old. He's registered, and Doug says that one day he may arrange for Bubba J to have a family. We received this message Friday, December 18, 2015, from our son, SSgt Daniel Kermeen, who is currently serving the USMC in Okinawa, Japan. Daniel, he's the one holding the red folder: "This afternoon 12th Marine Regiment awarded me the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. It was an honor working with Marines of that caliber, I will never forget the lessons I learned from that unit! Semper Fi!!"
