THE CUT: hidden from river side unless you're in a canoe

The Cut goes completely through the hillside to the right of the river -- the South Fork of the Little Barren River. You will arrive here first if you've entered Rockland Mills Road from the Beechville side, but don't give up just because it's not visible yet, all you have to do is cross the bridge and round the bend, travel about five miles per hour and keep your eyes peeled on your left. After you've marveled, you can keep going straight if you don't want to stop and hike. Rockland Mills Road winds through the farmland, past my schoolmate Wayne Bailey's home, past where my childhood BFF Faye Lambirth grew up, up a gigantic hill and comes to a T stop where it connects with Highway 70 and you have the choice of going right to Sulphur Well or left to Knob Lick.

Adair CJE Michael Lee Stephens sent this concept of the 135,000 s.f. Pinewood Shopping Center now underway at the Intersection of KY 61 S, Burkesville Road, and KY 80/Edmonton Road. Earth started moving Wednesday, March 23, 2016 on the frontage road, an extension of Will Walker Road, which will enter the road from on the north side of the center and is designed to have a new access at the property's southwest corner across from Miss Vicky's Pampered Angus Ranch in Greater Bliss. The development is just outside the Columbia City limits. Judge Stephens, a partner in the development, said that interest has accelerated in the past week, with inquiries from both a convenient story chain and an ethnic restaurant chain. THE CUT: entry to Rockland Mills Road from Beechville, KY

If you head for The Cut from Edmonton by way of Highway 68, you will turn onto Toby Hill Road, Highway 543, then take the next right onto Beechville Road. Once you arrive at Beechville, veer left onto Rockland Mills Road. If you go soon you will see this stunning collection of Forsythia, pear tree blossoms and green, green grasses on your left and know you are heading in the right direction to get to The Cut.
