The recipe is barely adjusted from the one Patty Smith Edwards remembers from her childhood. Her mother's Pork Chop Casserole. The potatoes and onions are part of the casserole and they couldn't taste better. Delicious then. Delicious now. The dish was a family favorite growing up, she remembers, and now it's becoming a favorite of her Patti's Deli family restaurant at Vester, on Burton Ridge. - Ed & Linda

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Child Abuse Prevention Month has been observed each April since its first presidential proclamation in 1983. In accordance with this Adair County officials have proclaimed this month to raise awareness that all children deserve to grow up in a happy, healthy environment. City Councilman Mark Harris gives tip for street light outages

City Councilman Mark D. Harris gave a tip for citizen help when street lights need replacing. The work can be speeded up if citizens call in the street and the numbers on the pole which needs attention to the City Clerk's office at 270-384-2501. The report for the pole above, he said, would be "Russell Road. No. A26 and 1000-25." With that information, he said, the city can get quick action from the utilities company.
