Most of us are looking past redbud trees to the next big show: Dogwoods showing off in fence rows, a display epitomized by a mid-to-late April drive south on Randolph Road in Metcalfe County. Maybe most redbuds in our area have peaked, but not this one in the First National Bank Corner of the Public Square. The photo was taken in early morning, and its gorgeous. Murray and Juanita Scott of Columbia, KY, donated this antique corner chair to be auctioned Saturday, April 16, 2016, in the Blaydes Estate Auction, at at 1335 & 1337 Hwy 55 South, Columbia, KY. The sale starts at 10amCT. Proceeds will go to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This chair belonged to the Wood (Doctor From Maine) and Snider (From Bloomfield) gamilies. It was owned by Myrtle Wood, who wasnearly 101 when she passed in 1995. Juanita Scott helped take care of her in Bloomfield, KY, and acquired the chair after her passing.
