The boys throwing the tomahawk is Jake Hill, Ken and Vickie Hill's son, and Mr. Brady Hayes, son of Bradly and Lisa Hayes. All are from Adair. Mayapple plants are everywhere at this season. Very often we spot the actual apple. But the otherwise show blossoms are usually well hidden beneath the plant's canopy. This bloom, one of four or five seen in a 25 s.f. patch on Sunday, April 24, 2016. - EW

On an April 8, 2016 backroad meander, Mom was enchanted by this tree trunk which looked to be having a big yawn. She reckoned it might be ready for its afternoon nap. The opening in the trunk is tall enough to house a toddler or for sure Winne the Pooh.
