Lisa says, "I like working here, the people and getting to stay busy." She works three days a week in two-hour shifts and has been employed there since 2011. She tells people, "come shop or come work." The staff is getting ready for Customer Appreciation Day in June where they will provide food and drink, promotional items, etc., to honor their customers. Looking for Mountain Laurel, but Rhodendron does just fine 2016-05-13 - Green River Lake Visitors Center, 544 Lake Road, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c). Linda had hoped to see Mountain Laurel in bloom at the Green River Lake Visitors Center, as it often is at this time of the year, but on May 9, 2016, it apparently was too early. However, the giant rhodendren was in full bloom, and on the far side, out of sight, the azalea was beautiful. Best of all, there were school kids enjoying an outing there. The music of their excited chatter testified to the value of the center for years to come. Most, but not enough area residents realize what a great resource the visitors center is. It's less than three miles from Coburg, in northern Adair County, KY. A great place to spend a Saturday, walk to the trail to the point of the peninsula, and do a Mountain Laurel search.
