Campbellsville High School students recently learned about how to reduce the sugar content in their diets by making smoothies. Angie Freeman, expanded foods and nutrition program assistant at Taylor County Extension Office, spoke to Deanna Campbell's life essentials students about the sugar found in milk, juices, sodas and other drinks. She told students how to read nutritional labels to find out how much sugar is in their drinks and food, and what foods have lower sugar content. To teach students how to make a healthy, low-sugar snack, Freeman taught students how to make smoothies. One smoothie contained spinach, banana, pineapple and low fat yogurt. The first 'expert' identification was that Willis' prey, dutifully and lovingly placed on her doorstep was a particularly fractious and dangerous kind of snake. Though it turned out be more terrifying in its fractious mode, it was really an environmental friend, better than even Willis at send vermin on to rodent heaven.
