For the first time in its four-year history, the Kentucky Arts Council's traveling exhibit "Makings of a Master" will be featured at a Kentucky state park. The exhibit will be on display in the lobby of the lodge, above, of Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park, 20781 Pennyrile Lodge Road, Dawson Springs, KY, June 1 to August 31, 2016. Access to the exhibit is free. In conjunction with the exhibit, banjo player Sue Massek, a recipient of an arts council Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Grant, will perform at 7pmCT, June 24 at the park. The performance is free.

At 7:17amCT, this foggy Sunday morning, May 22, 2016, Begley Chapel's highest feature could still be made out through the dense fog, but only barely, and only up close. The National Weather Service had predicted the fog would burn off by 9amCT, but that's turned out to have been optimistic. - EW
