The fish was at half a pound by the second telling of the story, and is expected to have been at least a pound by the time his grandparents hear about it firsthand. Campbellsville/Taylor County Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on Friday, May 26, 2016, at 114 Oak Street, Campbellsville, KY, owned by Allen and Angie Johnson, which sustained heavy fire and smoke damage. Campbellsville Fire Department Chief Chris Taylor said the first responders from Campbellsville and Taylor County, Columbia, and Greensburg were on the scene for approximately three hours. VFW Post Commander Joe Hare at 2016 Memorial Day Program 2016-05-30 - VFW Post 6097, 411 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. The Veterans Day program was held for the last time in this hall, the speaker above, VFW Post Commander Joe Hare, at the podium, said, alluding to the Fairgrounds and the hall being sold to Lindsey Wilson College, a transfer expected July 1, 2013. He said that next year the program will be in a much more comfortable and suitable venue. Commander Hare noted that attendance was not a high as the program warranted. Those 45-50 in attendance, however, will remember it as a moving, memorable Post 6097Memorial Day observances ever. The speaker, Col. Tim White (ret.), at right on stage, of Russell Springs, KY, and a member of the local VFW spoke eloquently of the observance and his memories of being in the Pentagon on 9-1-1.
