Melissa Moore, proprietor of the A&M Trading Post in Coburg, KY, found this favorite old photo taken at Waggener-Walker Newspapers, Inc. sometime during the 1970's. It's her mother, Mary Pat Moore, standing, left; and Rhonda Handy, right, with another member of the dynamic sales team, Barbara Ehling, on the phone. They were three of the best advertising sales producers in the history of Adair County Publishing, part of a sales force of 10-12 who kept the plant, some 100 employees, and newspapers in Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee humming. Breakfast of tender chunks of tenderloin from the Circle R and on their wonderful biscuits, with bits of tomato, lettuce, onion and pickle, served at home on English Village blue ironstone plates with strong black coffee made for a good day start. The asparagus and extra tomatoes were added touches from the neighborhood market.
