Just a year ago the 2015 Adair County Fair Little Mister and Miss chosen were Jasper Kemp and Gabrielle Kemp. Did you remember that went on to the State Fair to win the title of 2015 Little Mister & Miss Kentucky State Fair? They were at the Adair County Fair contest last night to crown this year's choices.

Alexander to help spotlight women professional drivers

Cindi Alexander, Columbia, KY, Co-Owner/Director and Training Instructor of Lake Cumberland CDL Training School, has won membership on the Women In Trucking Association (WIT) Image Team. The announcement of the 2016 Image Team was made recently at the seventh annual 'Salute to Women Behind the Wheel' event in Louisville.

Old Floral Hall, the 1884 building, dates from 1st (new) Fair

Adair County Historian Mike Watson dates the Adair County Fair from 1848, but notes in his AC Fair Factoid III that most consider the resurgence of the fair spirit with the expanded facilities including the "1884 Building" the old floral hall building still standing as the beginning of the of the traditional Adair County Fair as it is cherished today. The future of this building is uncertain at this time. Whether it will be moved to another site or not is not yet known. Photo June 2016. - CM

The 2016 Little Mister & Miss Adair County Fair contest was held Monday night, June 27, 2016. Winners are Olivia Anne Clark of Greensburg and Creed Daniel Watson. First runners up are Callie Lashae Terry and Korbin Haze Neat. Second runners up are Hayli Rayne Milby and Jaxon Cash Jones.

It's still almost a secret garden, but a favorite of many who watch it's many changes through the wildflower season. The Department of Biology Natural Garden at the Holloway Drive Entrance to Lindsey Wilson College off Miller Avenue brings a bit of wild nature of Adair County of yesterday to an urban campus setting. The fog this morning whitened the appearance of the just restored playing field at Walter S. Reuling Stadium and made the larger crown of Begley Chapel almost invisible from this vantage point. - EW
