First Child Volunteer at Square Meals Cafe 2016-08-06 - Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Victoria Pike. This very community minded young lady, Chelsey Elliott of Gradyville is the first child volunteer at Square Meals Cafe. Children eat free for breakfast and lunch and adults for a $4 donation. This is a wonderful program that feeds children healthy foods locally grown and mostly donated by businesses and individuals in the community. The cafe is each Saturing morning during the farmers market season. I fully support this effort and would encourage anyone who wants to see the food they donate actually eaten by a child to support this effort to see that children in this community are not hungry on Saturday morning. - Vicky Pike Paired Photo. Jamie Richard, pitmaster for the Clubhouse Grill, has provided BBQ for six of the seven South Central Kentucky Outdoor Expo events, fellow Jones Chapel United Methodist Church member Terry Partin has been an organizer of the event throughout its inception. The first Outdoor Expo was in 2010. Since then it has grown steadily. Partin expects the head count for visitors this year to be around 2,500. The church provides all the food served at the event. The barbecue is smoked outside, then served from the air conditioned comfort of John Burr Memorial Gymnasium's concession stand by church members and voluteers. Seventh Annual South Central KY Outdoor Expo underway, busy 2016-08-06 - Adair County High School, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Chad Parnell, Jones Chapel UMC Expo Organizer. From the second tier of John Burr Memorial Gymasium, a steady stream of visitors are seen at just a few of the 71 exhibitors booths this morning. In addition to the vendor booths, there are several seminars and competition events. Admission is $5, Each person who pays for admission will receive a free ticket on a new 2016 John Deere Gator that is given away at the show's conclusion. Tickets are only available the day of the expo and you must be present to win. This afternoon the day will close, as it always does, with an inspirational Christian message.
