There are no physical barriers nor stop signs to alert motorists that this is a pedestrian crossing, but emphatically strong visual cues do much the same thing to alert motorists, in any weather, that this is a pedestrian crossing. Heavier lines, with the railroad or ladder cross stripes, alert drivers. All one has to do to realize this is to remember how hard it was to find Edmonton Road from Burkesville Road when the new highway was just built at night, before the highway was striped. Jeff Scott will be missed in so many places and by so many groups in Adair County, none more so than by his fellow farmers market vendors and his many loyal customers. On Saturday, August 20, 2016, his family had his stand open, in his honor, with apples picked fresh from his orchard, at the Famers Market on the Square, with this scripture from Ecclesiates a testament to this aspect of his multi-faceted life. It brought smiles for the memories of the years of friendship he provided farmers' markets customers, and not just a few tears for the loss of a wonderful Adair Countian. Giant spider web greets Rowe Farm staff 2016-08-21 - Rowe Farms, 909 Keltner Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Fred Rowe. It's the time of the year for lots of spider webs. This one was unusual for its size and more beautiful with the beads of water. Informed reader comment on what kind, and how scary, the builder of this web is, would be welcome. Resident spider studiers only know a tiny bit about the wonderful argiope, but can't clearly make out the spider's signature stabilimentum, and, in Adair County, the argiope seems to favor a Gradyville habitat.
