Labor Day Weekend Traffic: Seems like old time

2016-09-03 - Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY .
Traffic was backed up as though the bypass had never been built at this section of Campbellsville Street - but while there was a short wait going north traffic flowed smothly through the magic of Columbia's best highway improvement in forever, the newly designed intersection at Campbellsville & Fairground Streets. Time was, before the new intersection, vehicles here could sometimes wait and wait and wait. But when the light changed, all the vehicles on the right in the photo, got past the light. At least we've got this going for us. - EW

Scenic Green County, KY: Ironweed on Cabin Creek Road

2016-09-03 - Cabin Creek Road, Green County, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Cabin Creek Road, I think. It's on the short cut to get from Coburg along KY 1913 to Dillon Street in Columbia, with a lot of intervening stretches in between. Admired the height - veritable Redwoods of the Ironweed species. From the vantage point, seemingly towering over the trees. For sure, the scene is worth searching out Labor Day weekend - especially if you are in from off. - EW
